The United States Mint today (May 14, 2012) began offering the 2012 Native American $1 Coin 100-Coin Bags for sale to the public. Each 100-Coin bag is being offered for $111.95, plus the US Mint's standard shipping and handling charge of $4.95 per order.

Included in each bag are 100-circulating quality 2012 Native American $1 Coins. Buyers have the choice of a bag contains $1 coins struck at the US Mint's facility in Denver or $1 coins struck at the US Mint's facility in Philadelphia.

The 2012 Native American $1 Coin continues a series of coins featuring annually changing reverse designs showcasing the important contributions Native Americans have made to the history of the United States. In 2009, the design centered around the concept of the Three Sisters of Agriculture, in 2010 it featured the Great Tree of Peace (Iroquois Confederacy). 2011 saw the design center around the idea of Diplomacy and treaties with tribal nations.

This 2012 Native American $1 Coin is struck with a reverse design showcasing the historic spread of horses. It shows a Native American and horse in profile, with horses running in the background. It was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program Master Designer Thomas Cleveland and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Phebe Hemphill.
