The 2012 United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof SetTM was released today, January 10, 2012, by the US Mint. This release includes 90% silver examples of the five 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters to be issued by the Mint.

Included in each 2012 ABQ Silver Proof Set are a El Yunque National Forest Quarter representing Puerto Rico, a Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarter representing New Mexico, an Acadia National Park Quarter representing Maine, a Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park Quarter representing Hawaii and a Denali National Park and Preserve Quarter representing Alaska. These five strikes mark the eleventh through the fifteenth of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program.

As previously mentioned, the five coins of the set are each struck from 90% silver. In total, the combined five coins equal 0.904 ounces of the precious metal.

The US Mint encases all five coins in a special protective lens to safeguard the finish of the strikes. The five coins are produced at the US Mint's facility in San Francisco and bear the appropriate 'S' mintmark.

Orders for the 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set may be made on the US Mint's online store - http://catalog.usmint.gov, or by calling 1-800-USA-MINT.  The price for each set is $41.95 plus the Mint's standard shipping and handling charge of $4.95 per order.
