The 2011 America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set marks the second year for a set from US Mint to contain strikes of the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. That is because the program only debuted in 2010 making the five coins of this set the sixth through the tenth in the series.

Coins in the series honor sites of national interest with reverse designs emblematic of those locations. A total of fifty-six locations will have been honored at a rate of five per year by the time the program is completed in 2021.

Proof Sets like this are composed of clad composition coins struck to a proof quality. This typically results in a coin with a much higher level of detail than would be found on a normal circulation strike. The proof coins are then encased in a special protective lens to insure they remain free from unwanted marks and scratches.

The following clad quarter-dollars are included in the set:

• 2011 Gettysburg Quarter honoring Gettysburg National Military Park of Pennsylvania
• 2011 Glacier Quarter honoring Glacier National Park of Montana
• 2011 Olympic Quarter honoring Olympic National Park of Washington
• 2011 Vicksburg Quarter honoring Vicksburg National Military Park of Mississippi
• 2011 Chickasaw Quarter honoring Chickasaw National Recreation Area of Oklahoma

Coins in the program are released in the order in which the honored sites came under the direct control of the federal government.
