2009 US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set

The 2009 US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set was released on October 1, 2009, for the price of $27.95. The annual product, which many numismatists simply refer to as the 2009 Mint Set, includes 36 coins. 18 are struck at the US Mint facility in Denver, and the remaining 18 at the Mint's Philadelphia facility. The coins are grouped into their own US Mint folder -- red for Denver and blue for Philadelphia -- with included coin specifications and certificate of authenticity. Unlike circulating change, all 36 coins are minted using specially burnished coin blanks and a special satin finish to attain collector uncirculated conditions. Additionally, the four 2009 Lincoln Cents contain the same metallic composition as the original 1909 penny -- 95% copper, 3% zinc and 2% tin.
